The Corsage Project is now accepting applications for the 2014 Boutique Ball. The application can be accessed by visiting The Corsage Project online.
Deadline for application is March 22nd, 2014. If you qualify, details of the April 6 event will be included in an email invitation sent out in March. Please note that in addition to filling out the online application form, an email from a guidance counsellor, teacher, or social worker referring your name is also required.
There are many reasons why a student may be in need of support from The Corsage Project. Some examples of the types of situations faced by those referred in previous years are as follows:
• unemployment in the family
• newly arrived family in Canada
• large family
• health issues in the family
• working part-time to assist family income
• loss of a parent
• living independently
• single parent family
• agency involvement
• living in a group home
• pregnancy/becoming a young mother
There are two key guidelines in terms of who is eligible for an invitation to the event:
• the student must be graduating
• the student is eligible to attend the Corsage event only once
Please visit the Corsage Project website to download and apply for their scholarships at www.corsageproject.ca. Deadline is February 24 for their $5,000 dollar scholarships and April 28 for their $500 dollar awards.
